 Thanksgiving Offering - The Results are In!
The only way to be two places at once is to pursue sacrificial generosity. Through sacrificial generosity, you can be here in Berwick going about your life, while your gifts to the Kingdom are expanding the fame of God all around the world while piling up treasure for you in heaven. You trade things that you can never keep to gain things that you can never lose. You did that with our recent Thanksgiving offering. Our goal was $30,000, but you gave over $58,000! The checks have been sent and the responses are coming back. Translation progress for millions without God’s Word, basic necessities for those without sufficient income, Christmas gifts for our missionary families and pastoral training for pastors oversees that could never get it otherwise. All that and more is being accomplished because you chose to trade the temporary for the eternal. Yeah God! We will keep you posted this year as the outcomes from your generosity take place.
The Distribution of our Gifts...
The gifts that you gave are being distributed as follows:
- Bible Translation. It costs about $24 to translate one verse of scripture for a people group that does not have it. Our $10,000 gift will translate over 400 verses!
- Christmas gifts for our missionary families. $3,000.
- $1,000 will purchase a video projector for the Kishbaugh’s teaching ministry in France.
- $2,000 will purchase a specialized cart to haul supplies, material and equipment for Kerry Oppel.
- $250 will purchase softball equipment for Chris Cook’s youth ministry in Switzerland.
- $1,000 for transition and one-time expenses for Nathaniel & Paula Tice to transition to their new role as missionaries with World Impact.
- $3,000 will provide scholarships for pastoral training for two Albanian pastors.
- $1,000 for a new parenting curriculum and a fatherhood course for Your Loving Choices.
$1,000 will provide full sponsorship for a woman in crises through Your Loving Choices.
- $5,450 for heating and rent assistance, food baskets, counseling scholarships and other types of help for local families through our Koinonia fund.
- $2,300 for Christmas gifts for Chapel staff members.
- Over $28,000 toward the reduction of our mortgage.
